The fish tank is buzzing like my mobile phone as it vibrates with more depressing news and views
But beyond that we face a battleground, silent albeit but silent and deadly
This is our life, locked up in lockdown and free to do nothing
But people just do nothing
Bewail our own boredom as we might, yet we still can’t find the courage to rise up and fight
Sit down and do nothing, that’s how we fight, affirms that humming tone from the radio barking orders from behind the microphone, all in a tone that just seems so monotone
We’ve heard it all before, it sounds all the same
It sounds like each of us are doomed, all the same
The fish in the fish tank say nothing as their see-through enclosure keeps humming yet still we all remain silent
Silence, the language of the oppressed
